Teva Hiking Sandals

I’m going walking can i wear my sandals?

OK I know this sounds like a stupid queston, but I have some expensive Teva sandals. I’m off for a four day hike along some pretty rough ground, but I keep looking at the sandals and thinking they’ll be able to handle it. Not sure if my feet will though. I’ll be waiting for nice weather whatever happens. Hope to cover about 60 miles. What do you think? Please don’t call me stupid, I have proper walking boots too, I just thought maybe it might work.

If you were walking across a salt flat, I might say the sandals could be okay, but on rough ground, it’s easy to twist an ankle. Without good ankle support, you could get a bad sprain or even a break, and if you were, say, 30 miles from your destination, that could be a big problem!

Depending on where you are hiking, there could also be other issues, such as mud, scorpions, or snakes. Keep your feet protected!

If the sandals are rugged and comfortable, I suggest that you bring them with you for wearing around camp, but wear hiking boots while on the trail.
