BEST PLACE FOR TEENAGERS TO GO CAMping IN CALIFORNIA?

we are 17 so we would need somewhere that allows minors to camp without an adult. We would also like somewhere with some type of water(like a lake).

Stay away from KOA’s if you have no adults with you. As a matter of choice KOA’s are for citified folk and the homeless don’t ever bother going to one. Most forest service and county service campgrounds as well have an age requirement. What you need are open lands within these areas that age requirements are not enforced. There are areas along the upper kern that you could camp at though so don’t begrudge that area. Any U.S. Forest area has camping allowed in dispersed areas near water lakes and streams. A favorite of mine is up in the Desolation wilderness area you will have to hike in a few miles but it is well worth it. if you give a little more specifics like what mountain you prefer I may give more info.
