backpacking bear bag
Using Physics, explain why more force is needed as we pull a rope that has a bag on?

A bear sling is used in some national parks for placing backpackers’ food out of the reach of bears. Using principles of physics, explain why the force needed to pull the backpack up (by pulling the rope) increases as the backpack gets higher and higher.
Until now, only ” :) ” is on track. The height “DOES” matter. The question given is directly from the book. It would be much appreciated if answers can be “in detail” please.

every time you pull the rope, it gets shorter. then theres more tension in the remaining rope which results in a need for more force. i hope this makes enough sense… hahah
