europe map backpacking

Motorbike Tour?
Im looking to do a tour, Ive decided to tour down to Athens with a ferry crossing to IOS.
Im starting in England (Portsmouth) The map tells me to ride to Dover and carry on from there.
Ill be doing it on a ZX636, around £10 fuel to 100 (before reserve) fuel.
Ive never done this before so looking for advice.
I know its a long route, but at the end in IOS is where ill stay with my partners family for a few days before heading back.
Ive worked fuel to be around the £360 mark give or take.
How much money would be a ‘safe’ bet to have to hand being in cash/bank ect.
What else would be good, I have rear backpack for the tail which is enough for me.
Obviously need passport – A Green card ??
Europe breakdown cover.
Anything else?
Hi , louise
I done it many times before ,i am doing it again with 3/4 mates end July but not in to Athens , out at ipsala in to Turkey.. then down to Mersin, for a friends wedding ,spend a day there then dash for home 5/6 days return back to dover
or maybe Euro tunnel,,we see,,
l
This is what you need , £360,,00 is more than enough this will
pay your toll charges too, so for money you are OK,
passport , log book of the bike showing ownership,
You don’t need green card , inform your insurance company
and they will cover you , you may not even need it some insurance company’s cover all EU country’s , mine is like that . doing it through Churchill.com , have you got recovery service
in case of break down , you would probably need that,, i use AA, some time RCA or green flag.. it is cheap £20 /30
for the few weeks ,, it is good to have ,,Churchill organizes that for me,, Your back pack, puncher repair kit. night light,
I use to go on land before all the way due to troubles in the Balkans it wasn’t safe , but now i catch a ferry from Italy , Bary or Alcona, in to Igoimenitsa Greece then Thessaloníki to ipsala Turkey ..
if you do that don’t forget the £100 return ferry crossing ,,
once you are out of Thessaloníki just drop down to Athens 2 days journey at most ,,,
Good luck you will love it
