Norther California Camping?

I live about an hour south of Sacramento, and I want a place to camp the weekend before July 4. I know that Most places are reserved but I want something more along the lines of the decor and atmosphere rather than the attractions and activities. No preference some in the mountains or near the coast, but I have friends in Portland and I stay with my two little girls. If someone could help find something in this regard ……, I would appreciate if I like places that are well shaded and have a character Isolated / print some camps in California does not.

Jellybeanchick hit in the head with the Sierra Butte. Sardine Lake is a beautiful place to stay, because there are three lower lakes nearby (1 mile) from the other, the High sardine (actually a distance), then Sardine Lake, which is fed by a cascade of Upper Sardine, and Sand Pond, where a small lake rather as a set Swim to the shallow troughs with BBQ and benches for resting, and no damn beaver walk, which was built by the Boy Scouts, which crosses the Pond and carries sand to the land of the Sardine camping. Stay There are a ton of campsites near this area is very nice. Just down the road from there Burger Creek, which is where I will be this weekend. It is very dark and has many places to camp, with a small stream that flows by the side of campsites, great for children and for their soothing night. If you are looking for a weekday, you can drive to the mountains of Butte and look out the Shining Path, which leads all the way to the top of the hill where the eye Fire Out is old, or you can visit all the stunning lakes of the region. Suggest Packer Lake is a camp style log cabin with a lake city of Nice, which has good fishing and beautiful Lodge can stop for a bite or a drink with McQuady Bill (the owner), tell him you sent Contreras, have been going there since he was before the place is almost 50 years (grandparents and I, that is). You can also give rise to Greagle which is the largest city in the region in a set of swimming, a golf course, a put-put for children, and a general store. It's a can not miss. Good luck!
